Interactive GUBERNA Director Event - How a board can steer resilience and proactivity around sustainability topics?

We have carefully prepared an opportunity for you to engage with two real-life business cases, using a structured framework that encourages participants to reflect on the practicalities of addressing sustainability within their organisation.

In small group discussions, you will explore key questions such as:

• Do we have enough information to decide?
• Do we have the competencies in our board to enable us to take the best decisions?
• How to reach a consensus when board is disagreeing about the strategy to adopt?
• How do you address value chain and open the discussion with your stakeholders?
• How as a board can we ensure the organisation focuses on increasing resilience & pro-activity ?
• Which mechanisms can be put in place to be able to evaluate?
• How should we apply scenario planning to prepare for climate risks or geopolitical disruptions?

During the event, participants will address key sustainability challenges such as value chain dependency, climate risk, and scenario planning. ESG is now a strategic board priority, requiring more than compliance — it calls for long-term value creation and resilience. This session offers space for shared insights, peer learning and focused discussion among board members.

About the GUBERNA Sounding Board Committee for Sustainability

This Committee was created in 2023 by a group of passionate board members about sustainability and active in its concrete implementation in organisations. The Committee organises events within the community of GUBERNA Directors to stimulate the exchange of knowledge, experience and practical approaches in a board-like setting.
