Belgian Awards for Sustainability Reports: a video to discover the 25th edition

In this video, Ms Sandra Gobert, President of the BAS Jury, shares her perspective on the current challenges of sustainability reporting and recalls the role of the BAS as the reference in Belgium in terms of quality and transparency. The BAS offer organisations of all sizes and legal forms the opportunity to benchmark themselves on the relevance and credibility of their reporting.

The Belgian Awards for Sustainability Reports were launched more than 25 years ago at the initiative of the Institute of Registered Auditors (IBR-IRE) and recognise organisations that publish transparent and high-quality sustainability reports based on ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance). Since this year, the Information Center for the Audit Profession (ICCI) is organising the 25th edition of the Awards in partnership with the IBR-IRE, founding partner.

The video highlights in particular:

• the role of sustainability reporting in organisations’ performance and decision-making;

• what the BAS reward: reports that (i) demonstrate impact, (ii) make performance measurable and objectives concrete, and (iii) are genuinely useful to users;

• the main evaluation criteria considered by the jury: materiality, results and key performance indicators (KPIs);

• the importance of balanced, structured and transparent reporting;

• the specific features of this anniversary edition.

In this context, organisations are invited to submit their reports by the following deadlines:

• 8 May 2026: for organisations in scope of the CSRD law; and

• 22 July 2026: for organisations not in scope of the CSRD law (voluntary reporting).

The award ceremony will take place on 17 November 2026 at Dockx Dome in Brussels and will mark the closing of this anniversary edition.
