Degroof Petercam's social commitment

Degroof Petercam Foundation continuously supports organizations that are committed to improving employment. Due to the corona crisis, the health care and education system have been suffering. For this reason, the bank decided to financially support two organizations in these sectors.

Doctors of the world

In these times of the lockdown people with extra needs or the homeless need extra help. The Belgian branch of international Doctors of the World make great efforts in finding solutions for these people. We are very pleased with this mission and have therefore committed to donating 150,000 euros, spread over a time period of 3 months, to alleviate these needs.

Close the Gap

Close the Gap, a Belgian organisation that is active internationally, focuses on refurbishing IT equipment donated by companies. After the equipment has been refurbished they are given to children from low-income families and school-aged children. The need for IT equipment is great at the moment: The lockdown increased the demand tenfold. We have decided to give this organisation our gently-used computer equipment, because we support this warm initiative. This way, students and less-privileged kids have a greater chance of taking part and being successful in distance learning.

Companies, people and societies help each other to overcome this crisis. This is not only heart-warming but fits seamlessly with our commitment and voluntarism.
