The GUBERNA Directors Community brings together all alumni who have completed a programme at GUBERNA and wish to continue developing as forward-looking, responsible and impactful directors. It is a dynamic and engaged network where board members meet, exchange experiences, and collectively contribute to strengthening governance in Belgium and beyond. As governance evolves and expectations towards directors increase, the community provides a trusted environment for reflection, peer learning, and continuous growth. What does the GUBERNA Directors Community do?
The Directors Community offers a variety of opportunities for engagement and growth. Each year, the Directors Assembly gathers certified directors and alumni to explore current governance challenges, exchange ideas, and gain strategic insights. This annual event combines inspiration, dialogue, and networking, reinforcing the sense of belonging within the community.
Alumni can also participate in Sounding Board Committees, initiatives created by members themselves. These committees bring together like-minded directors around specific themes such as sustainability, cybersecurity, or startups and scale-ups. They provide a platform for in-depth knowledge sharing, collaboration, and the exchange of practical experiences, allowing participants to reflect on real-world challenges and benefit from peer expertise.
In addition, the Directors Community organises a wide range of activities throughout the year, from networking events to thematic meetings. All alumni are welcome to attend GUBERNA’s courses and events, which offer opportunities to deepen knowledge, expand networks, and continuously grow as directors. By combining structured learning with peer-driven initiatives, the community supports its members at every stage of their professional journey.

About the Directors Council
The GUBERNA Directors Council meets four times a year under the co-chairmanship of Pierre-Henri D'haene and Danny Vande Vyver to reflect on and enhance the GUBERNA education offer and the functioning of the GUBERNA (Certified) Directors network. This platform serves as a strategic think tank, fostering dialogue and providing insights to strengthen the organization’s impact and member engagement.

We strengthens governance excellence by fostering a dynamic community of directors, enabling meaningful connections and knowledge sharing on real-world governance challenges. Acting as a bridge between Guberna and its alumni, we cultivate a bidirectional partnership where insights from experienced and aspiring directors drive innovation, inspire leadership, and shape the future of governance.
