Liesbeth De Ridder is Secretary General & Reach Officer and member of the GUBERNA Executive Committee.

She holds a Bachelor (FNDP Namur) and a Master in Law (KULeuven) as well as a Master in Personnel Sciences (University of Antwerp). She joined the Institute in 1996 after a first professional experience as scientific researcher at Vlerick Business School.  

As director of GUBERNA’s strategic  “Reach” pillar, Liesbeth has been responsible in the past 20 years for the GUBERNA member network and for the CEO and Chairmen platform. Hence, she has a good understanding of the governance needs and challenges of different types of companies. In addition, Liesbeth has a large experience in board evaluation exercises both in listed and non-listed companies and acts as a lecturer in the Board Effectiveness programmes of GUBERNA (NL - FR). 

She heads the GUBERNA Centre Family Business Governance supporting family businesses in their reflection on governance and the alignment of their corporate and family governance. The Centre is a forum for the exchange of experience and proposes different services such as incompany governance education and coaching, board evaluation and charter review. 

Liesbeth is a partner in the Family Business Award of Excellence organised by EY, FBNet Belgium and GUBERNA, where she is actively involved in the preparation and analysis of the different family business cases.  

Governance is an extraordinary instrument to bring together today’s and future generations around a purpose.
