This document is a practical tool for unlisted companies and their stakeholders developed by the European Confederation of Directors’ Associations (ecoDa), “the European voice of board directors”.

‘Waar staat governance vandaag in België?’ Op deze vraag probeert GUBERNA (Het Instituut voor Bestuurders) een antwoord te bieden in haar publicatie ‘State of the Art: Governance in Belgium 2010’.

GUBERNA, in samenwerking met het VBO, voert regelmatig een onderzoek naar de formele naleving van de belangrijkste corporate governance aanbevelingen uit de Belgische Corporate Governance Code. Hiertoe worden alle beursgenoteerde ondernemingen onderzocht en dit aan de hand van publiek beschikbare informatie.

In response to the financial crisis, the Commission committed itself in its March 2009 Communication on "Driving European Recovery" to improving corporate governance in financial institutions. The Commission wanted to ensure that the interests of consumers and other stakeholders are better taken into account, businesses are managed in a more sustainable way and bankruptcy risks are reduced in the longer term.

This survey was designed to collect more information about the role of corporate governance practitioners in companies across the EU and the influence these practitioners have on board behavior.
