This concise yet well-considered questionnaire (approximately 15 minutes) provides you with a clear insight into the key challenges facing your SME — and how good governance can help address them.

This questionnaire consists of three parts:

Company Profile – An overview of the priorities and challenges for the board, shareholders, and management.
Governing Bodies – Is an active board of directors appropriate, or is an advisory board more suitable?
Company Information – Insights into your organisation and specific governance best practices.

Immediately after completing the scan, you will receive a score across five parameters, indicating your level of governance maturity.

A detailed report will follow, based on Professor Larry Greiner’s growth model, where a “crisis” (or risk) necessitates moving to the next phase.

Based on your answers, the report will describe your current and next phase, along with concrete recommendations for your organisation. While not an in-depth analysis, it will allow you to anticipate your future growth.

Regardless of sector or activity, every organisation encounters nearly the same challenges as it grows. This does not mean your organisation fits neatly into only one phase, especially when approaching a transition point. Recognising these challenges — or better still, anticipating them — will help you steer your organisation through these phases without acute growing pains. The larger the organisation, the harder it becomes to implement changes.
