During the course Board Simulation the board of directors (including committees) are simulated with a realistic business case during a residential module of 2 days. In 2015 GUBERNA launched a new initiative together with the French Institute for Board Members (l’Institut Français des Administrateurs).

Methodology

This module allows you to practice your skills as a board member in a realistic context, specifically as a board member of the fictitious company Vivagreen NV. It is based on an excellent and proven methodology of the “Directors’ College” and the Universiteit Laval (Québec). During the meetings, participants get the chance to participate as an actor and observer. In addition, we chose specialised, qualified and experienced board members to play the expert roles during the sessions.

Number of participants

Our approach and the limited number of participants (between 12 and 16) guarantee engaging and interactive debates.

What can you expect?

During this module you get the chance to:

  • Practice and fine-tune your knowledge and competences, carrying out a board mandate in a realistic context
  • Develop the right behavior so you can contribute more in discussions in the board of directors
  • Via this experiment, you experience collegial decision-making in group
  • Receive confidential and honest feedback about your interventions from your colleague-board members and experts

Target audience

This training is for members only.  Not a member?

For (future) board members, company leaders and CEOs, from listed and non-listed companies, private and public sectors, non-profit organisations, SMEs, family businesses, start-ups, scale-ups and research centres. How to apply?

The goal of GUBERNA is three-fold: sharing knowledge & experiences, developing skills and promoting good governance. In all of our courses, we value interactivity and illustrate specific examples and case studies to smaller groups of participants. For this reason, we spend time putting together groups of complementary participants based on an objective and professional selection process.
