Sander Berghmans

Since August 2023, Sander Berghmans has been a researcher at GUBERNA. After obtaining a master's degree in history and business economics, he embarked on his professional career as a researcher at Vlerick Business School (Department of Finance & Accounting). In 2016, he became an assistant at the History Department of Ghent University. During this period, he also worked on a doctoral thesis titled "Dukes and Abbots: The Impact of Estate Management on Production and Social Relations in the Southern Netherlands (1650-1800)". Subsequently, he engaged as a researcher in various research projects at Ghent University. 

In addition to his interest in corporate governance and managerial activities in the present, Sander also nurtures a pronounced passion for the history of these subjects.
