Thomas Leysen hands over the chairmanship of the Corporate Governance Committee to Bart De Smet
On 15 March 2023, Bart De Smet took over from Thomas Leysen as chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee, the organisation that edits the Belgian Code on Corporate Governance for listed companies (‘2020 Code’).
Bart De Smet has a strong background in corporate governance, as a member of the Committee's board since 2016, chairman of the board of Ageas, previous chairman of VBO FEB, and a member of the board of directors of GUBERNA.
GUBERNA would like to thank Thomas Leysen for the pioneering work he has done, and for placing 'sustainable value creation' at the core of the 2020 Code. We would also like to congratulate Bart De Smet for his new appointment.

Hence, this is also an important event for GUBERNA. Moreover, our organisation already contributes to the scientific work of the Corporate Governance Committee, and our CEO Sandra Gobert is a member of the board of directors of the Committee.
