The OECD is in 2014 reviewing and revising its Guidelines on Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). The SOE Guidelines were adopted in 2005 as an internationally-agreed standard on how governments should exercise ownership of SOEs. They are being revised to take into account changes in the corporate governance landscape since their adoption in 2005, and to reflect the experiences of the growing number of countries that have taken steps to implement their recommendations. The revision process involves extensive consultation beyond OECD membership, including with representatives of the OECD’s partner countries, civil society, corporate governance experts and practitioners. As Belgian Governance Institute, GUBERNA has been closely involved in the revision process and has actively participated in the two consultative meetings held in Paris.

A first draft of the revised version has been published in May 2014.
